Minor Service
The six-month service (B) includes checking the:
- Lubricating system
- Fuel system
- Cooling system
- Air intake system
- Control panel & instruments
- Exhaust system
- Engine electrical system and general engine maintenance
During the service, we conduct a live test to check all functions, record outputs, and rectify any minor faults. Please note that these service plans apply to standby generators. Prime power units require a Major Service every 350-500 hours for long-term reliability.
What is Generator Maintenance?
All diesel generators, for both prime and standby applications, require regular servicing to ensure reliability. Standby units should be professionally maintained every 6 months or 400 hours of operation to extend their lifespan and guarantee performance.
The benefits of a generator maintenance service are:
- Extends longevity
- Prevent failures down the road e.g. discharged battery
- Helps maintain efficiency
- Provides emergency power for many years
- Prevents diesel from wet stacking
- Checks for signs of wear
- Drain and replace fuel
- Inspect and replace the oil filter
Downtime isn't an option for our customers, and that's the principle our service department is built on. Our 24/7 availability and structured maintenance plans are all about maximising uptime. We provide a straightforward, professional service you can count on.
