This report highlights the significant strides we made in 2024 to reduce our customers’ emissions and minimise their environmental impact, achieved through the greater use of Battery Energy Storage (BES) units and Stage V generators. Battery Energy Storage Units (BES)
Over the past few years, BES units (also known as BESS) have had a powerful impact on the temporary power industry. When paired with a traditional generator, they create a highly efficient hybrid power solution—much like a hybrid car. By smoothly storing and releasing energy, BES units manage the ebbs and flows in power requirements often seen on construction sites, healthcare facilities, and manufacturing plants. This innovation significantly increases the efficiency of our power solutions and drastically reduces the amount of time the generator needs to run, thereby reducing the CO2 emissions typically released into the atmosphere. Our commitment to this technology remains strong, with a total of over 230 BES units now in our in-house fleet.

We're incredibly proud that our Journey to Green 2024 efforts helped cut over 55,000 tonnes of customer CO2 – equivalent to 1.8 million trees. This milestone underscores our commitment to sustainable power, fuelled by our innovative BES units, Stage V generators, and HVO.

Stage V Generators
Stage V generators are the latest, most environmentally friendly temporary power solution, built to meet demanding EU NRMM legislation. Utilising DPF and SCR technology, they drastically reduce emissions (NOx, PM, HC, CO). Customers are rapidly adopting these reliable, cleaner units.

The Alternative Fuel: HVO
Another crucial step in helping our customers reduce their carbon footprint is the provision of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel. This cleaner fuel can be used in our generators as a direct replacement for standard diesel, immediately reducing carbon emissions, nitrogen oxides, and particulates. HVO represents a simple yet powerful change for a greener project site.

Our Operational Savings
We are committed to continuous internal improvement, working hard to increase the energy efficiency of our own operational activities. In 2024, we invested in greener technologies, implementing energy-efficient practices across our entire depot network. This included installing hundreds of efficient LED lights and adopting more efficient bottom-loading fuel dispensers at all our depots.
Looking Ahead
While we celebrate the significant emissions savings achieved in 2024, our momentum will not stop here. In 2025, we are continuing to aggressively grow our fleet of sustainable power equipment, with plans to further expand the Stage V generator fleet and invest in even larger and more advanced battery technologies.
